Top Golf — Commissioned Typefaces

I frequently work with designer Michael Cina, and his typeface foundry Public Type, on ideation, editing, correcting of letterforms, and technical assistance in their typeface development projects. Top Golf partnered with Public Type to develop a comprehensive suite of custom typefaces to anchor their brand identity. The system includes a 16 font sans-serif family spanning regular and condensed styles, a serif family with 18 styles true italics, and a 12-weight expansion of their core brand font. Designed for flexibility and digital clarity, these typefaces were built to meet the demands of a wide range of applications, from on-screen experiences to print and environmental graphics. Altogether, 44 distinct fonts were created in close collaboration with Topgolf’s internal teams. These typefaces are exclusive to the brand and form the backbone of their visual language, helping maintain a cohesive, recognizable presence across all platforms and touchpoints.
